Spending a summer at Camp Woodie is an opportunity to gain practical experience in leadership and creative development.  The job begins with a week of staff training, and requires an attitude of responsibility and strong personal character throughout the 11 week season. In return, you get the satisfaction of having a major impact on children's lives, sharing your passion of the outdoors and learning skills that will serve you wherever you go. Camp Woodie staff form many great friendships while having an experience of a lifetime during their summer here. 
Employment at Camp Woodie:
Cabin Counselors: Our most important staff members, cabin counselors develop the closest                                                                                  relationships with the campers. Leading and living with 9 or 10 children ages 8 -11 or 12 -16, our                                                                      counselors are role models, teachers, nature guides, instructors, entertainers and inspiration to their                                                                  campers. This position requires maturity, creativity, energy, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to helping young people become the conservationists of tomorrow.  

Details: 
Staff training begins as early as May 28th and the last day of summer camp is August 16th.  At Camp Woodie we teach and role model character. Smoking, chewing, body piercing jewelry (other than ears), inappropriate clothing are not in keeping with our goals, and are not acceptable. Drug screening and criminal background checks are part of our hiring process. 

Camp Woodie works hard to take care of our staff, and is proud to be one of the highest paying camps in the southeast. A first year counselor will earn $2400 per summer and more experienced staff can earn up to $3000 per summer.
